Most homes are lit by whoever installed the ceiling. The result is usually one flat layer of downlights, one colour temperature chosen by an electrician, and rooms that only look right at one hour of the day.

Four layers on separate circuits means the room has a morning setting, a working setting and an evening setting — rather than one level and a dimmer that makes everything worse at the same rate.

Nothing glares

Sources are shielded, recessed or aimed away from where people sit and lie. This is the single largest difference between a room that feels calm and one that feels like an office.

Colour stays honest

One temperature schedule across the house, and high colour rendering where it matters — kitchens, bathrooms, wardrobes. Food and skin look like themselves.

It survives ten years

Fixture families are kept narrow and mounting positions checked against real access. When something fails you replace it, rather than rediscovering it was discontinued in 2019.

    Upload a photo of the room from where you actually stand in it. No floor plan, no measurements, no software to learn.

  2. Scheme

    Get a layered scheme back

    LumaLens returns ambient, task, accent and atmosphere as separate layers, each with fixture types, positions, beam angles and colour temperature — from the same library we specify from on institutional work.

  3. Report

    Take it to an electrician

    The scheme exports as a report with a fixture schedule and circuit grouping. It is buildable by any competent electrician, whether or not we are involved.

  4. Design

    Or bring us in

    For full houses, renovations and anything with joinery, daylight or a difficult ceiling, we take it on as a design commission — the same process we run on a hospital, at the scale of a home.
